An Email Receipt template is the format of an email reply which you will be sending to your contacts in reply of their emails. If drafting an email every time is not feasible for you, then you can just keep an email receipt template, which you can fill whenever you are sending an email receipt to a sender.

In reply to your email, it is to inform you that we have received your email dated ______________________ (date on which the email has been sent) at ________ (time when the email has been received) with subject _______________________________________________ (Subject of the email).
This is a general email receipt and we will get back to you with detailed response in a short while.
