Every time you hear “All aboard…last call for Liverpool” in a rail terminal, you can be sure it’s coming from the Train Yardmaster or train conductor doing his duty as the train pulls out of the terminal. The Yardmaster coordinates the activities of train crews and passengers before the train pulls outs to ensure that it runs on schedules and smoothly.  Along the route, he checks on passenger tickets and collects fares, announces upcoming depots and reminds passengers about safety rules and respond to passenger queries.
